This month’s Featured Member: Sabrina Ashleigh

Meet Sabrina Ashleigh, this month’s featured member and our first place Kikkoman winner! She’s a full time student at UCLA and loves to be creative. Check out her website and read the rest of her interview here.
1. Tell us about yourself, personally and creatively (mini bio).
Personally: I am quirky and have my awkward moments. It used to bother me, but now I embrace it because who else will.
Creatively: I am in a perpetual quarter-life crisis at the moment and creativity is my outlet.
2. What brought you to the Zooppa community?
I participated in the Crayola Creative Possibilities contest last summer, so I thought I’d come back and make another video.
3. What do you like most about crowdsourced projects?
I love how unstructured/permissive the process is from the creator’s standpoint.
4. Name artists that have influenced your work.
Alfred Hitchcock
The 1975
5. Where do you go to school? How has your education influenced your design?
I am currently attending UCLA where being around other creatives makes me both comforted by the solidarity but also realize how diluted the playing field is. I don’t know if this has influenced my design, but I’m definitely less hesitant when initiating projects; there’s no time to wait.
6. What is your favorite style and artistic medium to work on?
I gravitate towards films that blur the line between fantasy and reality.
7. If you weren’t filming, what would you be doing instead?
I would love if in a parallel universe I was a famous mukbang celebrity.
8. Choose 3 words to describe your art.

9. What projects are you currently working on?
I always find myself part of some student film eventually

10. What drew you to participate in this campaign? i.e. – did the brief catch your attention, the award money, the love for the brand?
I am an avid consumer of Facebook and YouTube cooking videos, so naturally I had to make one.

11. What is one piece of advice you would give to your fellow Zooppa community members?
Read between the [guide]lines.
Don’t let rules restrict you to making the same content as everyone else; use them to figure out what crazy ideas you can get away with.
12. What was the most challenging aspect about the Kikkoman Project?
Realizing that despite all the cooking videos I watch, I don’t cook; I owe my mom for being the best help
